My background
Arnaud Dechelle studied architecture in Strasbourg, France, where he graduated with honours as a French Architect in 1993. He worked and further studied in Paris where he obtained a Post Graduate Degree in Art and Architectural Theories.

After few years working in the fields of Architecture, Exhibition Design, Art installations and Theatre design, in France and abroad, he joined the Master of Arts in Scenography at Central Saint Martins School of Arts and Design. He completed this MA with distinction in 1997 by presenting 'Urban Ghost', a promenade installation and performance set in an abandoned School keeper's house in London. This piece was recreated the same year in Belgrade following the invitation of the OISTAT International Forum 'The City as a Stage'. Back in London, his cross-disciplinary background and a new interest in multimedia installations led him naturally to the field of Exhibition Design.

He has since been working for eight years in this field, in the UK and abroad, designing and managing the implementation of exhibitions such as : 'Reclaiming the Past, Building the Future' for the British Museum in 1999, 'The Voters of the Future' for the Houses of Parliament in 2000 and Radical Fashion at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2001, a surreal journey through the work of 11 contemporary fashion designers. More recently he completed the 'Mediatheque' in the Irish College in Paris, a permanent multimedia resource centre. He is currently working on the City Museum of Ljubljana in Slovenia, the Royal Institution in London and the new Museum of History of the Polish Jews in Warsaw.
