Arts Spaces of the Future 2015 contains six unique visual think-pieces researched, written and produced by small multidisciplinary groups of students.

The six scenarios respond to the pressing challenges of the 21st century by proposing new kinds of temporary and dispersed arts spaces, run by flexible, networked organisations, that cater for new audience and provide new opportunities for artists in 2015.

The project was run with support and in collaboration with Arts Council England.

  01 Risky projects
The project anticipates a new hybrid art form that combines the adrenalin-pumping physical danger of extreme sports with boundary breaking art practice to create 'extreme arts'.

02 Dense media shrubbery
The project envisions a porous, versatile multidisciplinary organisation, housed under one roof, that fosters a creative critique of materialism and consumerism.

03 Imaginespace
The project explores new ways of curating and providing digital exhibitions integrated into the built environment.

04 Project Landscape
The project envisages a sweeping demographic shift from the city to the country and the subsequent development of vital rural arts networks.

05 Cloud near you
The project proposes temporary arts venues that cannibilise obsolete petrol stations.

06 Take Place
The project describes pop-up structures for performance and display that activate non-places in the urban fabric.
