In 2015 oil consumption is at its peak, and there is a shift from fossil fuel to alternative energy sources. European cities are banning automobiles and replacing them with mass public transportation systems. With 10, 350 petrol stations dispersed across the UK, and 900 in the area of London, alternative uses of petrolstations emerge.

London's petrol stations are in transition, they no longer serve cars but have been turned into pop up arts venues. The local community finds they have world class dance, concerts and visual aarts on their doorstep. The space becomies a 'Sadler's Wells Near You'. Over time venues evolve into social centres with cafes and workshop spaces.

The performances and exhibitions introgue local communities and enice new audiences to travel across town to major longstanding, theatres, concert halls and exhibition spaces.

The project proposes temporary arts venues that cannibilise obsolete petrol stations.
