Each group visits a different commercial or cultural location (for example, a museum, shopping centre, seaside town, theme park, virtual space and heritage site) to record the main way-finding schemes and narratives. Using sketches, photography and written notes, you document the unfolding sequence of experiences. You then propose an intervention that would extend, modify or even reverse the narrative – using annotated diagrams and two or three-dimensional visualisations.

  Ask Me

Aims:
To create a way-finding scheme for overseas day visitors to Brighton.

Proposal:
Ask Me is a four-part scheme which plays on the distinctive character of the town as a place where individuality, outdoor activity and personal expression is the order of the day. Visitors use a combination of live cameras, personal messaging via postcards (pass it on), and the invitation to use local people as a source of real information to enrich their visit.
