Palermo

As the major project for the first year students on the course for 2011/13, we travelled to Palermo, southern Italy. The group discussed ways in which to regenerate the spaces of Palermo and increase prosperity for the city through a variety of initiatives that included developing entrepreneurial skills through business hubs as well as engaging an increased amount of tourism from key target audiences for the region.

The Canal Museum

Students were set the challenge to inspire and transform people´s perception of a Canal Museum on Camden Locks in London, UK and its area, and to attract younger visitors.

By challenging several identified conflicts in perception of the Canal Museum (that it was only open during the day and targetted an older population of visitors), the team proposed to create an exciting experience for customers who would be able to travel in an ice cube along the canal from Camden to the museum through several themed tunnels.
