Damage at the Truman Brewery

In our project 'Damage' at the Truman Brewery site we focused on the Boiler House. How to create a Place from a Space become both our primary issue and led to our solution. Subtle installations put the building into context while opening up new access points into the Boiler House create a flexible space able to host various events and turns the site from a boundary into a central space for different communities.

Live Sites

Our brief was to consider how a Live Sites Screen might work in the new Granary Square at the Kings Cross development taking into consideration the Olympic legacy.
After a rigorous period or research and the exploration of a multitude of ideas and concepts we constructed a story arc that captured the spirit of the Olympics.
Through a program of events and activities (which required varying levels of engagement) the users of the screen and the space were invited to take ownership of the square.

Holocaust Memorial Day Trust

The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust (HMD) asked MACPfNE to produce an evocative structure to be lit by genocide survivors and communicate a Legacy of Hope as part of the Memorial Day event. 2010 is a significant year for HMD because it marks the 65th anniversary of the Auschwitz-Birkenau liberation. HMD wanted to use the opportunity to engage more people with HMD and highlight the relevance of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides in our lives today. View Project

The Stock Exchange of Dreams

The student team designed an exhibition/event that showed the dreams of the office workers and financial services workforce at Docklands just after the credit crunch.

The student team worked with the Museum of London Docklands to produce a temporary exhibition for one of their LATES. One of the goals of the project was to attract office workers and financial services audiences from Docklands who do not usually visit the museum. The students researched the site and interviewed many people working in Docklands.
