Pamela Parker
My background
Pamela G. Parker is a New York native artist and designer interested in drawing connections and telling stories.
After graduating Cooper Union in 2003, Pamela went on to work designing books at Penguin and Knopf publishers. Simultaneously, she widened her horizons by taking on freelance work in web, signage, animation and print projects. Pamela left Random House in 2005 to spend time volunteering in El Salvador, later moving to Japan to teach and discover fresh inspiration towards her aesthetic sensibility.
My expertise
In 2007, Pamela began assisting Coen Projekts on environmental design projects for children’s hospitals. It was with Coen that she discovered her passion in the field of exhibition design, allowing her to marry interests in sculpture, interactivity, art and design. This experience led Pamela to a design project with the team at Ralph Applebaum Associates, delivering graphics for the American Indian Cultural Center and Museum in Okalahoma.
Pamela has also stayed true to her fine arts background, exhibiting her work in painting, printmaking, video, and sculpture around the world. Most recently her outdoor installation, “Jump!” was exhibited at the White Rabbit Arts Festival in Nova Scotia, Canada.
My focus
Pamela seeks to use her talents in the creation of public environments that will educate and inspire audiences.
