New exhibition: Untold stories by unseen objects

Featuring a collection of objects and memories collated together to retell North Kensington's community History, 'Untold stories by unseen objects' is a new exhibition by recent Creative Practice for Narrative Environments graduate Nicole Plascak.

With funding support from the Big Lottery Fund the exhibition will be on display at 165, Ladbroke Grove, London until 26th August 2010.

Nicole Plascak has launched a new website which documents her ongoing project “Things that Tell Stories”. It explores objects, memories and collections to create interesting and powerful narratives. These stories are displayed in different formats, such as exhibitions, books, publications and website.

Students ‘London Flapjack Association’ featured on domus

Current MACPfNE students Bethany Shepherd, Sophie Trench and Rosa Huang have had their project highlighted in an article on the domus website as part of the London Festival of Architecture. The project is “a whimsical critique of the Business Improvement Districts which are progressively privatising our public spaces.”

Wellcome Collection Competition Winners

The team consisting of Pamela Parker (MACPfNE), Lourina Botha(MACPfNE), and David Bennett (MAID) was awarded as winner of the Wellcome Collection's 'Bodies in Motion' Competition. The competition was held to design an urban interactive installation to make the public more aware of the body in the spirit of the 2012 Olympic games.
The ideas developed by the team were titled 'Pulse of the City' and used a playful interactive fountain to translate a user's heartbeat into a musical rhythm played out through pulsing streams water:

Camilla Zucchi joins leading exhibition design group

Recent Central Saint Martins graduate Camilla Zucchi (MA Creative Practice for Narrative Environments, 2010) has become the newest recruit for Europe’s leading exhibition design group, Event Communications.

To date, Event have delivered over 120 projects worldwide, ranging from design services, consultancy on masterplanning, interpretative planning, 3D design, graphic design and project management.

Camilla will be working with the Content Development-Interpretation Team at Event.
