REYALITY
REYALITY is a dynamic data visualisation window display breaking down the gap between the perceived social and environmental accountability of luxury brands and their actual measurable impact.
Luxury fashion operates within a complex system where even a single garment has significant but often overlooked footprint—hidden behind polished narratives that mislead professionals and audiences into believing a brand’s sustainability efforts are sufficient.
Using Burberry as a case study, the project juxtaposes the brand’s sustainability claims by visualising reported measures against the full scope of actions needed for true accountability. Raw data—sourced from Burberry’s reports and assessed by Remake, a global advocacy organisation and project partner—is classified, quantified, and translated into an engaging public installation; a storefront data sculpture visualisation in the form of a Burberry trench coat.
REYALITY’s website encourages audience participation, offering insights into Burberry’s assessment over the years, along with visualisations of other major fashion brands. Audiences, using REYALITY platform as a guide, can sign petitions and, together with industry stakeholders, can advocate for a more resilient fashion system.
